My Approach

My work as a therapist is to steady you as you explore and care for the fraught parts of your inner world. Sessions are filled with consistent work that I compare to the process of removing splinters or untangling a fine gold chain. They are marked by moments of hope, relief, and realizing. Through our work, you will gain knowledge and tools to create change in your day-to-day life and also deep healing in your inner world.

In working with me, I will first help you build a clear picture of your goal. We will ensure it addresses the current challenge while also being within your realm of influence. From there, I will guide you to engage in deep internal conversation with the wounded parts of yourself. You will learn how to support these parts of yourself with calm, compassionate curiosity so that they can become joyful and vibrant again.  â€‹

Therapy to find the root of the problem.
Part of addressing your current challenge is exploring what lies beneath it. We will tend to relevant, painful formative experiences and misaligned core beliefs and, in doing so, ideally prevent new problems arising from them.

Therapy that helps you understand your feelings.
Together, we will observe, name, and interpret the emotions and thoughts you’re experiencing. Emotions are viewed as information; we avoid pathologising, overreacting to, or ignoring them.

Therapy that gives you tools for ongoing self-reflection.
The therapeutic approach we use will deepen your capacity for self-awareness, self-compassion, curiosity, and calm. You’ll become familiar with the process that we use and be able to put it to use yourself in a safe and functional way.

Therapy to improve your life.
You are investing your resources in therapy so I believe that you should see positive changes in your internal world and day-to-day life. I ensure we always have a goal (even if it changes over time) as a guiding light to our work. We will assess together regularly whether sessions continue to be produtive, supportive, and necessary to your goals. â€‹
