- Relationship changes with partners, parents and in-laws, older kids
- Loss of identity
- Challenging or traumatic experiences of birth, feeding, and bonding
- Tools for emotion regulation
- Concepts to help make sense of the postpartum phase and parenthood

How many people are in the group?
The maximum number of participants is 10 people.

Why group therapy for postpartum?
Postpartum and maternity leave can be very isolating in the Western world. In my work as a therapist and my own experience as a mom, I know the value of being in community during this time. It's also a wonderful opportunity to get out the house with your baby in a space where there's no pressure for them to be anything but themselves. Individual therapy is also very beneficial during the early years of parenting and you can absolutely do both.

Is there parking if I drive? Can I get there on TTC?
Yes and yes. There is a paid underground parking lot and also the Galleria Mall parking lot available so there's no need to stress about finding parking. Located on Dupont between Lansdowne and Dufferin, Adventure Alley is also accessible by TTC.
What about if my baby is crying or needs to feed?
That's absolutely fine. Your baby is welcome to be there just as they are.

Group Therapy for Moms Near The Junction
Welcome. I'm Asha, a Registered Psychotherapist in the High Park area. I'm also a mom. Offering in-person therapy groups for moms where their babies are welcome has been a dream of mine since becoming a therapist. During my own maternity leaves, I noticed that most of the activities available were for the babies; this is a space where babies are welcome, but the focus will be on you and your wellness.
My education and training to become a therapist happened alongside my journey into parenthood. Going through these transformative experiences at the same time fostered a passion for maternal mental health. I saw so clearly how unsupported moms are in our society at a time when all our other self-care and coping strategies are hard to access (time with friends, sleep, alone time, etc.). Group therapy is a space to unpack your experience and gain tools for more joy and resilience in this chapter.

I hope to see you there.
